Wow! No update from me since september?
Well, I guess that's what being a teacher means. I'm over my head with work, and I also do work quite far from my home so I don't really have time to log on everyday and take part in the community or produce anything anymore although I would want to!

But I still do prowl around faving pieces made with my stock and leaving a few comments here and there
So i hope you're all good around here! I have two weeks of break which means I'll be around a little for the next few days

• Trying to return:

Oh dear! I have been missing in action for a while!

My summer has been hectic: last summer job ever, moving to a new apartment in Paris, and I started teaching three weeks ago. I spend roughly 3h in transportation each day, have ginormous classes (some of 48 students) but I do like what I do and I am comforted in my idea that this IS the career I want. I does give me tons of works though: preparing classes, grading papers (70 a week, roughly) plus the administration side of it, there seems to be an endless supply of forms and papers and e-mails to answer to. But I try to keep organized.. and mostly fail.

I do want to come back to DA and keep interacting with you folks. I will try to find time to do so! I might not be returning to stock (which is time-consuming) but I do feel a need to go back to other forms of art (painting and drawing mostly, which I can practice a little everyday without going into the huge setups and planning stock involves.)

I have been away and I missed a DD made using my stock! What a shame!


Luckily, I had time to catch up with what you guys made out of my raw pictures, and I do quite enjoy the results!

Hey guys, it's been a long time, but it looks like I've reached the end. I AM A CERTIFIED ENGLISH TEACHER!
Out of 1000+ candidates, 240 of us passed the written exams. And out of those, only 110 of us got certified after the oral exam. I made it to the 40th place out of those 110. I don't usually congratulate myself, but I AM SO DAMN FUCKING PROUD! This exam is known to be a very tough one and seriously, passing it the first is something to be proud of!
Even better: instead of teaching high-school, as I should be, I have been offered a position in a post-high-school institution that prepares students to enter very prestigious universities through a high-standard entrance exam. It is a very rare opportunity so I took it It's gonna be loads of work for me, but it will look really good on my resume
So I hope now that the studies are done with, I'll be able to be on DA more! Now to find a new apartment!

• Exams:

HOLY CRAP! I just got the results of my written exams. Well, I didn't get the results actually... because they don't give you your grades when you PASS and get to go to the oral exams!!!! YES! I PASSED!
Now I need to pass the oral exams in a fortnight, and I will now mid-July if I graduate and get to be a certified teacher!

So yes, I am indeed alive
I am just out of my exams. Picture this: 4 days, 25h of exam (7+6+6+6), 6 subjects (literature, history, phonology, linguistics, French to English translation, English to French translation), 46 pages written. And the funniest part: no results given before... JUNE! And then if I pass I get to go to... the oral exam: 4 more days!

I am however on vacation for like, 2 weeks during which I plan to do as little as possible. Go tan in the garden of my parent's house, read a book totally unrelated to my classes, bake a shit ton of cakes and cookies (as I have no often at the apartment.) And yes, browse and interact more on DA! I might even be able to get some nice countryside stock over there Wouldn't that be cool, uh?

So fill me in: what have I missed?
